UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF KURT COBAIN

Kurt Cobain Nirvana’s leader found dead by a self-inflected gunshot wound to the head, at 05 of April of 1994. As result of this tragic incident Kurt’s figure was added to
the Dream Team of sacred and great Rock Stars. His value as artist remains incorruptible until today. It wouldn’t be exaggeration to be said that Rock music has been devided in 2 periods. Before Kurt Cobain and after Kurt Cobain.

His group Nirvana with their second LP “Nevermind” managed to bring a new alternative rock category, Grung, at the top of world’s music map. From nowhere a new group from Seattle came like hurricane and dragged everything at its crossing. Nevermind has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. In March 1999, it was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Among the most acclaimed albums in the history of music and the most acclaimed album of the 1990s, Nevermind was responsible for bringing both grunge and alternative rock music to a mainstream audience.

The first single “Smells Like Teen Spirit” recently surpassed 1 billion views on youtube, remaining still fresh and great.

Their next LP “In Utero” proved their great quality as a band and proved also that Nirvana wasn’t a firework but an atomic bomb.

The absolut proof of Kurt’s high level was Nirvana’s performance at MTV Unplagged, where Cobain dares to sing David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” and he managed to surpassed Bowie’s interpretation.

How determinant was Kurt Cobain for entire Music Planet described in the 2008 film The Wrestler, in a scene where Mickey Rourke’s “Randy ‘The Ram’ was discussing the greatness of ‘80s music, like Ratt, Def
Leppard and Motley Crue. Marisa Tomei’s “Pam” exclaims, “[The] Fuckin’‘80s, man, best shit ever!” To which Rourke responds, “And then Cobain came along and ruined everything!”.

Kurt Cobain continues to be influential and impotrant even nowadays being the last Great Rock Star. Nobody knows how would be the music history if Kurt Cobain hasn’t left this vain world.
